Participant Reviews

In Their Own Words

AT

Apinya Thongchai

Chiang Mai, TH · January 2026

"My husband and I had avoided serious money conversations for years — not because we disagreed, but because neither of us felt like we had the right language for it. The couples program gave us that. By the third session we were having conversations at home that we'd never managed before. The educator was calm and completely neutral throughout."

"I have lived in Thailand for eleven years and handled my finances here throughout that time, but I genuinely did not understand the regulatory framework. The Thai Financial Regulations series filled in gaps I did not even know I had. Particularly the session on consumer rights when dealing with banks — that was immediately practical."

"I came into the self-assessment feeling vaguely organised but without any structured picture of where I stood. The personal assessment document I received at the end was more detailed and more useful than I expected. It is the kind of thing a financial advisor would charge considerably more for — and they would try to sell you something afterward. celviones did not."

"What I valued most was that nobody at celviones tried to push us in any direction. We went through the sessions, asked questions, took notes, and left with a clearer picture. I would say the couples program helped us avoid at least two financial decisions that we probably would have made badly if we had continued with the vague understanding we had before."

"The regulations series was honestly more engaging than I expected. I came in thinking it would be dry. Somchai has a way of making the material feel connected to real situations you could actually encounter — the complaint procedure session in particular was eye-opening. I did not realise how many rights I had as a bank customer in Thailand."

"The self-assessment was difficult at moments — it requires you to be honest about things you might prefer not to look at too closely. But that is the point, and the educator was very good at maintaining a calm and non-judgmental tone throughout. I went in with a rough sense of my finances and came out with an actual document. That difference matters."

Three Participant Journeys

TC

Thai couple, early 50s

Financial Foundations for Couples · October 2025

The Situation

Both partners were approaching retirement at different paces with significantly different levels of engagement with their financial affairs. Conversations about retirement had been avoided for years due to a sense that they would create conflict.

The Program

The couples program provided a structured, neutral setting to examine each partner's situation separately and then together. The facilitated exercises helped both partners articulate concerns they had not previously been able to express directly.

The Outcome

By the final session the couple had a shared understanding of their combined financial position for the first time. They subsequently enrolled one partner in the self-assessment program to get further individual clarity.

ER

European expatriate, mid-40s

Thai Financial Regulations · November 2025

The Situation

A long-term resident holding financial accounts, insurance policies, and investment products in Thailand with no clear understanding of the regulatory protections that applied to any of them. Had recently had a dispute with a financial institution and felt ill-equipped to navigate it.

The Program

The Thai Financial Regulations series provided a clear overview of the frameworks governing each category of financial product the participant held, along with a detailed understanding of the complaint and dispute resolution processes available.

The Outcome

The participant was able to resolve their existing dispute using the formal complaint process covered in the series. They described feeling — for the first time — that they understood the system they were operating within. They subsequently referred two colleagues from their professional network.

TN

Thai professional, late 40s

Comprehensive Financial Self-Assessment · December 2025

The Situation

A professional with a complex mix of assets, insurance policies, and debt structures accumulated over a career. Felt overwhelmed by the overall picture and unsure how the different elements related to each other. Specifically concerned about retirement readiness.

The Program

The comprehensive self-assessment examined each financial dimension separately before integrating them into a complete picture. The educator helped identify both areas of strength and gaps that had not previously been visible because the participant had always viewed each element in isolation.

The Outcome

The participant received a detailed personal document summarising their complete financial position across all five dimensions. They described the experience as clarifying rather than alarming — the picture was complex but finally legible, and they felt able to engage with a financial advisor from a position of actual understanding.
